In Irving Park, a Charles Barton Keen residence undergoes a comprehensive renovation of house and landscape. Sited atop a hill, the property is organized by a strong central axis: a sweeping lawn leads to a concealed cobbled motor court, while aligned brick steps rise to the front porch and entry.

To the rear, a sequence of terraces ascends to a new pool terrace and summer house for recreation and entertaining. Brick garden walls, level changes, and structured plantings define a series of outdoor rooms.

In collaboration with the owners and architect James Collins, JALA integrated architecture and landscape through carefully calibrated terraces, retaining walls, paths, and views, creating a cohesive and spatially rich environment.
